​INDANA Steering Committee Structure

The INDANA Steering Committee (SC) consists of an Executive Committee (Ex-Com), and three Steering committee sub groups (SCSG). The Ex-Com takes responsibility for the financial management, leadership and development of INDANA as a global entity. The SCSG is be responsible for the development of INDANA in three geographical world regions; 
  1. Europe and Scandinavia
  2. USA, Canada and South America 
  3. Africa, Asia and Australasia

Steering committee members are able to form INDANA policy, speak at international meetings and are often involved in workstreams for other allergy organisations such as AAAAI and EAACI. The sub committees welcome support from INDANA members on individual projects.

INDANA Steering Committee (SC)
Composition 
Ex-Com and SGSC 
NB: Members can only remain on the INDANA Steering Committee (either as member of Ex-com or SGSC) for 10 years in total 
(from 2014 onwards)

Remit
To agree terms of reference for INDANA;
To hold a minimum of one face to face Steering Committee meeting annually;
To approve an annual report;
To approve accounts and agree allocation of funding for the coming financial year;
To support the Ex-com in their executive responsibilities;
To elect new members to the Steering Committee and Executive Committee as required;
To determine any structural changes to INDANA;
To establish and allocate leads to take forward projects such as:
  • Website development
  • Educational tools, presentations and e-learning
  • Joint Research projects
  • Continue to develop existing links with the appropriate allergy bodies (AAAAI, EAACI and ASCIA)

INDANA Executive Committee (Ex-com)
Composition
Chair, Immediate past Chair, Chair elect and one adopted SCSG member. Each position will be for 2 years; the adopted member becomes chair elect when the past chair rotates off the Ex-com. Must be a member of AAAAI, EAACI or ASCIA as appropriate.
NB: After 2018, EX-com must contain one SC member from each of the SCSG.

Remit 
Chair - chairs Steering Committee meetings.
Executive responsibility for:
  • INDANA education and research including the submission of sessions to conferences
  • INDANA liaison with external bodies (EAACI, AAAAI and WAO)
Immediate past Chair – organises secretariat for SC meetings in conjunction with SC members from that region
Executive responsibility for:
  • INDANA public relations
  • INDANA finances and sponsorship 
Chair elect – organises Executive meetings
Executive responsibility for:
  • INDANA membership
  • INDANA website

INDANA Steering Committee Sub Groups (SCSG)
Composition 
Chair – SC member nominated by Ex-com who serves for 2-year term 4-6 members of the INDANA Steering Committee plus 1-2 adopted INDANA members who will attend SC meetings and become SC members, when a vacancy arises. Must be members of AAAAI, EAACI or ASCIA as appropriate.

Remit
  • To vote for the position of chair elect  (must be an SC member);
  • To liaise with Ex-com with regard to the translation of executive responsibilities into local needs for education, research, public relations, sponsorship and membership;
  • To take responsibility for their own section of the website in conjunction with the Webmaster and Chair elect, sending regular information such as conference reports, blogs, lectures and publications to be posted on the website;
  • To develop specific initiatives for the geographical area they represent;
  • To agree a communication strategy for their geographical area;
  • To take responsibility for (ad hoc) task force/working group initiatives as agreed with Ex-com;
  • To participate in (ad hoc) Taskforces/Working groups together with members.

INDANA Members:
  • To be invited to be members of sub committees;
  • To participate in (ad hoc) Taskforces/Working groups together with members;
  • To be able to access the website, resources and INDANA network;
  • To attend open INDANA meetings
